It has been a busy summer here at Not Afraid of Color and we’ve been blessed to see so many friends, new and old, visiting the studio in recent months. We sure hope this note finds you and your family in good health and happy spirits. As we look forward to the coming of fall, there are a few updates we want to share. Save the Date: Come on out and help us Celebrate our Anniversary on November 7, 2009! The annual sale event is one of the ways we say thank you to all our loyal customers. If you can imagine yourself making merry with 40% - 50% savings on your favorite glass, then make sure to save the date now. More details coming soon. Studio Time: During the summer months we have offered free studio time to our many friends. We like to think of it as our own Stimulus package. With so many folks joining us it seems clear that free access to our studio has stimulated your creativity – it has certainly stimulated ours! However, as much as we have enjoyed it, studio time will not be offered for free beginning in September 2009. Instead to continue our commitment to supporting your artistic pursuits we are adopting a co-op model for studio time. One we hope will be a win-win for everyone. As you know there are a good number of consumable materials that we supply for studio time. They aren’t costly items by themselves, but over the course of the summer we have to replace grinder bits, paper towels, patina and other chemicals. Don’t misunderstand us – we were glad to do it and the results of the many projects are a testament to the fact it was a worthwhile investment on our part. Going forward, however, we can’t continue to shoulder the full cost of consumable and we are asking you to help us out in whatever way you can. We know these are challenging times so all we ask is that you do what you can. Here’s how we see our new CO-OP working. When you come for studio time please bring us something to help offset the costs. If you are not sure what things we can use, feel free to write or call and ask. We want this to work for everyone involved and hope you understand our situation. As always, we are open to your feedback. Let us know what you think. Since I’m so slow getting information out to everyone this gives me an opportunity to share how our first co-op week went! The response has been amazing. Everyone who came in for studio time last Thursday really pitched in the spirit of Not Afraid of Color. What a great feeling for everyone involved. Thank you. Again, do what you can when you can….there will be a donation container next to the side door for the times when you can chip in for chemicals, grinder bits, soldering iron tips….etc., otherwise do what you can when you can. This is an honor system studio and your all part of the family. We look forward to seeing you at studio time. Drop me an email or give us a call when you plan to come. Studio time runs from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. every Thursday evening. We look forward to working with you! Jere and the whole staff at Not Afraid of Color |
